Keynote title: Conversations with German AI Services – Opportunities and Challenges in Providing AI
Keynote abstract: The development of independent, reliable AI services is possible even though large commercial players currently dominate the AI market and thus increasingly influence the flow of information. The national funded AI service centers such as KISSKI provide a variety of services including generative AI services such as ChatBots. The ChatAI ecosystem is a vibrant environment serving 100k users in Germany and beyond. First, we introduce the services and their capabilities, then we show how we develop Open Source AI Services, how to live open governance, and give a brief background into costs models, hardware requirements, and long-term scalability.
About the keynote speaker: Prof. Dr. Kunkel is Professor in High-Performance Computing at the University of Göttingen and the Deputy Head High-Performance Computing at GWDG. He manages several research projects revolving around High-Performance Computing and particularly high-performance storage.
